HOLY SHIT.

Apr. 22nd, 2011 08:34 pm
Someone made a trailer for Dies Irae. Holy shit.

WHY DID NO ONE TELL ME ABOUT THIS. WHAT. I CAN'T EVEN.

I'm utterly speechless. This thing is beautiful. Thank you, afaviva, you have made my entire week. It is just fantastic and epic and amazing and I love it to pieces.

You can watch the video here. Go and leave some love, because I don't have a YouTube account to do it. It's ridiculously perfect and I am so, so flattered that it exists. Sometimes, the internet yields wondrous things, and this is definitely one of those times.
 Huzzah! )

Thank you all so much for reading and enjoying over the past year. It has been, and will continue to be an absolute pleasure sharing my scribblings with you all!

My flight across the Atlantic back to merry old England was made bearable by

a) getting a seat at the front of a section so I had leg room, and

b) INCEPTION ON DEMAND. HELLS TO THE YES.

And now I have lots more ideas on the characters and stuff for my big bang, so I am most pleased. Oh, and current word count is, like, 17,000 or something. As my long suffering beta, the very wonderful and tolerant [livejournal.com profile] karakalyn will tell you, my brain exploded on me the other day and now there are many new things going on that I really hope I can beat into coherence. I will make the cool things happen. I'm determined!

Oh man, I'm so jet-lagged right now. I think my eyes are yelling at me. But here's a master list of what came out of my little self-congratulatory prompt party. I think it went pretty well:

A Dies Irae mini-sequel (Supernatural, Dean/Castiel, Sam/Gabriel)

Arthur used to be a sysadmin of justice! (Inception, Arthur/Cobb)

Let Justice Roll Down Like Water (Supernatural, Dean/Castiel)

Yusuf deserves birthday cake! (Inception, gen) EDIT: Now with ridiculous Arthur/Cobb sequel if you scroll down the massive conversation between myself and [livejournal.com profile] coldthermistor !

Profound bondedness (Supernatural, Dean/Castiel)

A sequel to "Hollowed and Whole" (Supernatural, Dean/Michael)

Okay passing out now bye!
[livejournal.com profile] cynicl  has done me a great honor and nominated "Dies Irae" for the rare pair category at [livejournal.com profile] spn_award. If you agree with her, second the nomination and/or vote! I'm somewhat uncomfortable with self-pimping in this way, but I also like the potential of shiny things on my internet mantle, as unlikely as that may be.

In other news, I am still ludicrously busy in RL, and it is irritating. My giant stack of critical reading is glaring at me accusingly as I write this, because I am officially entering the realm of dangerous procrastination. Alas, literature surveys do not write themselves. Even less so when I have about 48 hours in which to write one in.

And yet,[livejournal.com profile] inception_kink keeps dangling its prompts tantalizingly at me! I WILL RESIST YOU, INTERNET. JUST WATCH.
Title: Dies Irae, or Something
Author:
Alchemy Alice
Rating: PG-13
Total Word Count:
~50,000
Genre and/or Pairing:
Action/Adventure/Romance! Dean/Castiel, Sam/Gabriel, Michael
Spoilers:
Season 5 up to Episode 10.
Warnings:
Apocalyptic violence, slash (obvi), multitudinous references to Biblical events that are then misused with blatant disregard for accuracy. Also, Good Omens references, and hella bad language. In other words, fun for all!
Disclaimer:
Riffing on stuff that isn’t mine. I have no affiliations to any involved in the making of these characters and scenarios, and own nothing, except maybe this version of Michael. But really, Christianity has a better claim, so nope, nothing at all is mine, and I mean no infringement.
Summary: It starts with headaches, and it ends in a clusterfuck. So, business as usual, Apocalypse-wise.

Once when Joshua was near Jericho, he looked up and saw a man standing before him with a drawn sword in his hand. Joshua went to him and said to him, ‘Are you one of us, or one of our adversaries?’ He replied, ‘Neither; but as commander of the army of the Lord I have now come.’ --Joshua 5:13

Last one, dudes. Sorry for the wait again, hopefully this is somewhat adequate. Thanks for staying with me, though! I really had doubts about whether I'd be able to finish this, but all of the encouragement went a long way towards assuring that I did. So, here we are.

Warnings:
Whoa guys, we could actually be reaching the end now. Like, next chapter. This will be the second to last, I'm pretty sure. I haven't finished something this long in years. Christ. Sorry for the late update in the meantime--this chapter was bitchtastically hard to write. I'm still unsure of it. Hopefully it works.

Uh...nothing anymore, I don't think. If you've made it this far, I doubt you have anything to worry about. Although today you get a bonus artwork included in your chapter! Hurrah! ...I was really bored today, and photoshop was calling me.

Warnings:
Epic Apocalypse, Part Two: Electric Boogaloo. Holy crap, guys, this chapter is super long, but apparently the muses bit me in the ass last night, so here y'are. I really hope it works for everyone, because I'm actually pretty excited about this one. Also, I made up a ton of crap not even remotely based in common lore or legend. Hopefully it's internal logic will still be okay though.

AlchemyAlice
Rating: PG-13
Genre and/or Pairing:
Dean/Castiel, Sam/Gabriel, very vague Michael/Lucifer
Spoilers:
Season 5
Warnings:
This chapter, given that it's Apocalypse time, bitches! was written under the influence of requiem masses, death metal, and excellent whiskey. It's all part of my process, dudes. Also, I should mention that further borrowing of Good Omens is afoot, because Odegra is too good of an idea to only use once. Oh, and cliffhanger. I'm sorry, but I felt like I shouldn't hold out on you guys, but at the same time, the Apocalypse is going to take more than one chapter to deal with.

Title: Dies Irae, or Something
Author:
AlchemyAlice
Rating: PG-13
Genre and/or Pairing:
Dean/Castiel, Sam/Gabriel
Spoilers:
Season 5
Warnings:
The plot does not move forward. I really tried, but it failed--apparently, this was necessary before the shit really hits the fan. Sorry if this chapter sucks. Only guarantee is that some UST is resolved, but I am unfortunately physically incapable of writing porn. So, fail again. Also, possible severe butchering of Latin, because despite six years of study, I am the worst pseudo composer of the language ever. All corrections will be appreciated.

Rating: PG-13
Genre and/or Pairing: Dean/Castiel, Sam/Gabriel
Spoilers: Season 5
Warnings: Total butchery of Revelations. Although I should point out that I owe all knowledge and inspiration for my various butcherings to this site, which is very handy and very brief, and lacks Biblical jargon that would take me ages to get through.
Disclaimer: Riffing on stuff that isn’t mine.
