Title: Anatomy of a Mid-life Crisis
Author: Alchemy Alice
Genre/Pairing: Banter-y goodness! Ariadne/Eames, very background Arthur/Cobb
Rating: PG-13
Word Count: 4,500
Warnings: No spoilers, very mild gore. Very slight tie-in to my other story Retrieval, but you don’t need to have read that for this to make sense.
Disclaimer: Nothing here belongs to me, I am merely playing in someone else’s sandbox.
Summary: Ariadne knew, in theory, that at one point in her life she hadn’t had to deal with strange men barging into her life and messing around with it, but now she honestly couldn’t remember what that had been like, or when it had been the case. It was slightly pathetic, and more than slightly irritating.

AN: For [livejournal.com profile] cunning_croft, who won my auction at [livejournal.com profile] help_japan. I hope you enjoy this!

Right, I'm throwing my hat in as well. I couldn't not, really. The sheer scale of what's happening is just devastating.

Happy bidding, guys.

ETA: You are all amazing. I'm throwing in another fic for the second place bidder :D

Due to paperwork problems and the fact that I don't know how to read directions on visa applications, I am unable to travel and therefore alone for the holidays. SADFACE.

Thus, I am counting on you, my f-list, to keep me entertained! No pressure or anything, guys. But seriously, I'm alone in the house, I have to finish writing this stupid thesis chapter, and I need procrastination material. Or well, I probably don't. But I'd like some anyway.

So, fic recs, anyone? Music I should check out? Random thoughts? Tell me about your lives, because nothing is happening in mine except academic writing and whatever's on the BBC.

And in the meantime, here's something really cheesy and awful that's been sitting unfinished on my hard drive that my OCD compelled me to finish. And even though it's awful I'm totally counting it as a [livejournal.com profile] kissbingo  square--Time: old.

Retrieval

Title: Retrieval
Author: Alchemy Alice
Genre and/or Pairing: Snark, romance, Arthur/Cobb
Rating: PG
Warnings/Spoilers: None, really.
Word Count: ~1,000
Disclaimer: Entirely not mine. Just playin'.
Summary:
In which Arthur does not belong in Moscow.

A/N: I wrote this a little while ago for [info]foxxcub's kissing meme, and now I rather like it. So I cleaned it up a bit, and here it is. Also, why is everyone on my flist (including me, up until today) sick right now? All y'all feel better. Here, have some warmingup!fic.

Retrieval )
My flight across the Atlantic back to merry old England was made bearable by

a) getting a seat at the front of a section so I had leg room, and

b) INCEPTION ON DEMAND. HELLS TO THE YES.

And now I have lots more ideas on the characters and stuff for my big bang, so I am most pleased. Oh, and current word count is, like, 17,000 or something. As my long suffering beta, the very wonderful and tolerant [livejournal.com profile] karakalyn will tell you, my brain exploded on me the other day and now there are many new things going on that I really hope I can beat into coherence. I will make the cool things happen. I'm determined!

Oh man, I'm so jet-lagged right now. I think my eyes are yelling at me. But here's a master list of what came out of my little self-congratulatory prompt party. I think it went pretty well:

A Dies Irae mini-sequel (Supernatural, Dean/Castiel, Sam/Gabriel)

Arthur used to be a sysadmin of justice! (Inception, Arthur/Cobb)

Let Justice Roll Down Like Water (Supernatural, Dean/Castiel)

Yusuf deserves birthday cake! (Inception, gen) EDIT: Now with ridiculous Arthur/Cobb sequel if you scroll down the massive conversation between myself and [livejournal.com profile] coldthermistor !

Profound bondedness (Supernatural, Dean/Castiel)

A sequel to "Hollowed and Whole" (Supernatural, Dean/Michael)

Okay passing out now bye!
Title: Repercussions
Fandom: Inception
Genre/Pairing: drama, hurt/comfort, Arthur/Cobb
Rating: PG-13, for violence
Word Count: ~1,400
Summary: It isn't easy to get the drop on Arthur. And anyone who does deserves everything coming to them.

A/N: This is an effort towards multitasking and also avoidance of my long WIPs, which are being...difficult. Anyway. Written in two parts for two prompts at [livejournal.com profile] inception_kink, the second of which is also going towards one of my [livejournal.com profile] kissbingo squares (body: wrist):
"Are you alright?"
"I'm fine."
"Then why are we going 85 miles an hour?"

and
"You've done enough for me, more than enough. Now it's my turn."

Repercussions )
[livejournal.com profile] cynicl  has done me a great honor and nominated "Dies Irae" for the rare pair category at [livejournal.com profile] spn_award. If you agree with her, second the nomination and/or vote! I'm somewhat uncomfortable with self-pimping in this way, but I also like the potential of shiny things on my internet mantle, as unlikely as that may be.

In other news, I am still ludicrously busy in RL, and it is irritating. My giant stack of critical reading is glaring at me accusingly as I write this, because I am officially entering the realm of dangerous procrastination. Alas, literature surveys do not write themselves. Even less so when I have about 48 hours in which to write one in.

And yet,[livejournal.com profile] inception_kink keeps dangling its prompts tantalizingly at me! I WILL RESIST YOU, INTERNET. JUST WATCH.
Title: Till Human Voices Wake Us
