Title: Accidental Gift
Author: Alchemy Alice
Genre and/or Pairing: Canon!AU, Dean/Castiel
Word Count: ~14,600
Rating: PG-13
Spoilers: Through the Apocalypse, and then goes off-book.
Warnings: Complete ignorance of seasons 6 and 7, and probably an unhealthy amount of (un)intended weapons-related innuendo.
Summary:The problem with angel swords was that humans knew fuck-all about them. Worse, the angels were no better. Meanwhile, some post-apocalyptic cracks in the fabric of reality needed mending.

So while I was just trying to post the second part of this, I'm afraid LJ was being completely ridiculous about formatting, and also told me that my chapter is about 500 words too long to fit. GRAR. So the complete work, with some minor edits can be now found at AO3. Sorry for the inconvenience!

A/N: This is the first half of a long, long overdue charity fic for [livejournal.com profile] nightrider101--I am so fucking sorry this took so long (and will probably take a bit longer to finish, argh) but I really hope you enjoy where I took this. It probably didn't have to be so complicated, but apparently that's what my brain did (and didn't...again, argh) want to do. Many thanks also to [livejournal.com profile] lemniciate also for taking a look at this and asking all the right questions about where the hell I was going with it. Your input was incredibly helpful!

Part I )
Long time, no see.

I am, in fact, alive. And term has begun again! I am excited because the summer was kind of desolate and boring and I need structure in my life.

And I, uh, have a request to make: I need help in finishing this thing that I've owed [livejournal.com profile] nightrider101 since the beginning of this year, because dammit I don't know how to go on, and what's more, my spn muse has completely run dry. So to any of you who are still avid fans and can instill me with your enthusiasm, I would appreciate anything from a cheerleader to a beta reader. It's about wings and profound bonds and also some problematic rips in reality that happen after the apocalypse-that-wasn't. I have a little over 7k written out of probably 10k total, which is way more than I was planning on doing, but apparently I'm incapable of writing anything less than weirdly convoluted plotty things or something? I think I'm going to post the first half of it very soon, with the hopes that this will pressure me into finishing the rest of it in something resembling a timely manner. But seriously, I keep staring at it, willing words to appear, but they just don't. So...yeah. Help?

On the flip side, though, I have been sucked into loving the Avengers hard core. I don't really read comics all that often, but I am totally behind the films and it's making me take Wikipedia crash courses on the the canon material like woah. Seriously, this movie has already ruined me, and it hasn't even come out yet. As a result, I am utterly lost to Steve/Tony right now. It's a disease, almost as bad as Charles/Erik, except worse because whereas Charles and Erik make me want to write them into badass adventures, Steve and Tony make me want to just read utter sap about how they made up after Civil War and got married and fought crime together. Argh. Stop it you bastards I hate you. Also my personal theme song for them is now 'Teenage Dream' because Tumblr is a terrible influence on me and I am a terrible person and it makes me laugh uncontrollably. STEVE IS TOTALLY TONY'S TEENAGE DREAM, DON'T DENY. Oh god this journal must never become connected to me in real life or I will have to change names and move to a different country again.

Dean Winchester is not built like them.

A/N: Holy shit, it's finally finished. And I am terrified that this last little bit is anticlimactic and weird. I tried? Ack. Thanks to everyone who stuck with it, and I hope this doesn't disappoint.

HOLY SHIT.

Apr. 22nd, 2011 08:34 pm
Someone made a trailer for Dies Irae. Holy shit.

WHY DID NO ONE TELL ME ABOUT THIS. WHAT. I CAN'T EVEN.

I'm utterly speechless. This thing is beautiful. Thank you, afaviva, you have made my entire week. It is just fantastic and epic and amazing and I love it to pieces.

You can watch the video here. Go and leave some love, because I don't have a YouTube account to do it. It's ridiculously perfect and I am so, so flattered that it exists. Sometimes, the internet yields wondrous things, and this is definitely one of those times.

A/N:
Apologies again for the monstrous delays--my degree is currently taking up a great deal of my time. Also, I've been debating whether or not to post this before finishing the chapter that follows it, because there is a really annoying cliff-hanger at the end of this one, and given my highly unfortunate track record for updating, it could be another long while before I post next. So be warned, I suppose.

Right, I'm throwing my hat in as well. I couldn't not, really. The sheer scale of what's happening is just devastating.

I'm offering 1000 words or more for [livejournal.com profile] help_japan, which can be bid for at this thread.

Happy bidding, guys.

ETA: You are all amazing. I'm throwing in another fic for the second place bidder :D

A/N: Serious abuse of italics within. There are also a couple of passages in Greek that I just used an online translator for, so they're only partly accurate. Apologies. If anyone happens to speak Greek, I would love to have a quick consult!  Many thanks to [livejournal.com profile] vasiliki for providing proper Greek translations!

A/N: See? I haven't abandoned this! I am just very busy, and very slow. And we're reaching the end, which means that everything is going to be one huge fuck-off cliff-hanger after another, so if that really irritates you (it irritates me, so I understand) I recommend waiting until I finish the damn thing before reading through.

Title: Stickshifts and Safetybelts
Fandom: Supernatural
Rating: PG-13
Pairing/Genre: Dean/Gabriel, snark and romance
Warnings/Spoilers: through season 5, after which I have no idea what’s going on, so it’s basically AU. Oh and also, car makeouts!
Word Count: ~1,150
Summary: In which bucket seats all have all got to go! (If the reference is obscure, do listen to this song. It is joy in auditory form!)

A/N: For [livejournal.com profile] morganoconner, who poked at me for more Dean/Gabriel, a pairing I will always oblige because they are epic and snarky and wonderful :) Also for [livejournal.com profile] kissbingo square ‘type: French’. And as a sidenote: why am I so productive when I drink whiskey??? I’m like Hemingway, except less badass. Bollocks. Also, I borrowed the idea of Wendigo packs from someone, I don’t remember who. So if you know what I’m talking about, speak up and I’ll credit them. I needed a plot device, and that was a really good one, no stepping on toes intended.

“Father help me, but I’m starting to like your car. It has class.” )
My flight across the Atlantic back to merry old England was made bearable by

a) getting a seat at the front of a section so I had leg room, and

b) INCEPTION ON DEMAND. HELLS TO THE YES.

And now I have lots more ideas on the characters and stuff for my big bang, so I am most pleased. Oh, and current word count is, like, 17,000 or something. As my long suffering beta, the very wonderful and tolerant [livejournal.com profile] karakalyn will tell you, my brain exploded on me the other day and now there are many new things going on that I really hope I can beat into coherence. I will make the cool things happen. I'm determined!

Oh man, I'm so jet-lagged right now. I think my eyes are yelling at me. But here's a master list of what came out of my little self-congratulatory prompt party. I think it went pretty well:

A Dies Irae mini-sequel (Supernatural, Dean/Castiel, Sam/Gabriel)

Arthur used to be a sysadmin of justice! (Inception, Arthur/Cobb)

Let Justice Roll Down Like Water (Supernatural, Dean/Castiel)

Yusuf deserves birthday cake! (Inception, gen) EDIT: Now with ridiculous Arthur/Cobb sequel if you scroll down the massive conversation between myself and [livejournal.com profile] coldthermistor !

Profound bondedness (Supernatural, Dean/Castiel)

A sequel to "Hollowed and Whole" (Supernatural, Dean/Michael)

Okay passing out now bye!
[livejournal.com profile] cynicl  has done me a great honor and nominated "Dies Irae" for the rare pair category at [livejournal.com profile] spn_award. If you agree with her, second the nomination and/or vote! I'm somewhat uncomfortable with self-pimping in this way, but I also like the potential of shiny things on my internet mantle, as unlikely as that may be.

In other news, I am still ludicrously busy in RL, and it is irritating. My giant stack of critical reading is glaring at me accusingly as I write this, because I am officially entering the realm of dangerous procrastination. Alas, literature surveys do not write themselves. Even less so when I have about 48 hours in which to write one in.

And yet,[livejournal.com profile] inception_kink keeps dangling its prompts tantalizingly at me! I WILL RESIST YOU, INTERNET. JUST WATCH.

Fandom: Supernatural

In which Sam takes custody of Gabriel's porno, Dean and Castiel need a push, and there are shenanigans of the restorative and historical kinds.

A/N: Oh god, I am SO SORRY this took so long, [livejournal.com profile] jessebee . I really hope you like it--it got rather dramatic, which I hadn't counted on. Clearly I need to brush up on my banter, or something.

Also, it's come to my attention that there are A MILLION FUCKING PLOT HOLES. When this is all over, Imma have to go back and fix that shit.
