That set of glances after "taut silences" was wonderfully hot. One of the things I like about Sam/Gabe is that, since Gabriel is played by one of the few relatively normal-looking actors on the CW, it's believable that Sam doesn't immediately jump him. Most of the cast is so improbably good-looking that I'd expect them to need blindfolds just to think about something other than how attractive everyone else is.
ETA my point, in so far as I had one: most of the time, it defies imagination that Character A has never noticed Character B is attractive. But Gabriel's mercurial changes of expression and mood can reveal a flash of something more and conceal it again in a blink.
