Yay, I'm glad I could at least temporarily assuage your academic/life woes! I am suffering from a few of those myself at the moment :/
As to your note, I think it started out as just a verbal tic of my own making (authorial voice bleeding through, oops) but really, by the timeline of the story Arthur's been living with Cobb for at least a few months by the time he calls, so it would be totally possible that between that and the two of them living in each other's pockets while on the run would lead to their speech patterns aligning, y/y? And now that you've brought that to my attention I find it very endearing :D
I think the challenge is what appeals to me about the whole Ariadne/Eames dynamic, they're both shrewd and smart but in completely different ways, but then they're also both terribly droll, which makes them fun to write. Anyway, I'm glad you liked this, banter is fun and I hadn't done it in a while, so hooray!
